Card: Ace of Swords
Sunday we had a Lunar Eclipse; we are being prepared for many changes some great some challenging. Lunar Eclipses are relationship oriented. This being a Leo-Aquarius Eclipse puts the focus on working with the “Tribe (Aquarius) and the “Individual” (Leo) and learning how to form a bridge between the two. The Ace of Swords was chosen out of all the Ace’s because it can indicate a new beginning in one or more areas of one’s life.
Sometimes this new beginning can be started by a separation of some kind – from a relationship, or from a job situation. Know that as anxiety-producing as such a new beginning can sometimes be, that underneath it all is good, beneficial energy that is getting you where you want to go. This suit represents the rational mind and its ability to discriminate. Swords cut through things in order to pierce illusion, to differentiate between fantasy and reality.
In general, the Ace of Swords calls on us to not be afraid to take a leap of faith if it’s in our best interests. In short, bravery is called for. As the old adage says, “Feel the fear and do it anyway.” You have a good idea already of what must be done. The hard part is the doing of it. Start today. You may finally let go of a belief system which actually hasn’t worked for you for some time – which you might not have been aware of. Don’t beat yourself up if you find you had been holding some viewpoints and beliefs that you shouldn’t have. Everyone makes mistakes or gets hold of the wrong end of the stick from time to time. You will find some spiritual truths that hold more promise for you which are beneficial.
In the image of this Ace, a single upraised sword represents your prime motive or guiding ideal — the vision that guides you through life’s changing fortunes with single-minded clarity.
The Ace of swords is sometimes shown piercing a silver and/or laurel crown, a symbol of optimism implying evolution, progress, a sense of hope and victory. It is occasionally shown pointed downwards — a darker message, which refers to sacrifice, challenges, and a critical environment.
Call on the powers of the “Beginner Mind”, open to the possibility of a life filled insight and purpose.
– Blessed Be,
